As for the workload, it's going to be a lot of modeling. For the book it will be like the case studies in Chandler's Materials and Methods. Also diagrams explaining how sustainability is integrated into the buildings. For the game, we'll use the case studies as templates, and we'll also be modeling the sites for the game (I think there's only two cities left, so that should be over soon.) As soon as we get a substantial body of work, then we switch gears to research and deep investigation as to how these truly are sustainable, i.e. embodied enery, heat gain/loss, some cost estimation, daylighting...that sort of thing.
What's nice is that there is so much to learn, and it's true sustainability, not just LEEDs crap. It's an area of design that hasn't really been explored beyond this Go Green fad that's going on.
